In Wisconsin sturgeons are getting ready to spawn

From a message of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

As the weather gets warmer, so do water temperatures. Warmer water means sturgeon will begin spawning on the Wolf River. Keep an eye on the underwater Wolf River camera as we expect to see the sturgeon start to spawn in the next week or so!

You can also see sturgeon spawning on the Fox and Peshtigo rivers. Find viewing locations for sites on the DNR’s sturgeon spawning webpage.

Sturgeon are very vulnerable when they spawn and can be susceptible to illegal harvest. Make sure to report any suspicious activity to 1-800-TIP-WDNR.
