A new law for the protection of Yangtze River sturgeons, China

A new law entitled Changjiang River Protection Law of P.R.China that is a first law for a large region or a watershed in China, which has been taken effect since March 1, 2021. This Law is formulated with a view to strengthening the protection and restoration of the ecological environment in the Yangtze Valley, promoting the rational and efficient utilization of resources, ensuring ecological security, realizing the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and achieving the sustainable development of the Chinese nation.  The law specifically mentions the protection of the Chinese sturgeon, the Yangtze sturgeon and their habitats.
