WSCS Travel Grant Call – ISS10 Yichang, China (October 2025)
The World Sturgeon Conservation Society (WSCS) is pleased to announce a call for applications for six travel support grants (€1000 each) for students and early-career researchers to attend the 10th International Symposium on Sturgeons (ISS10), to be held in Yichang, China, between October 20-24 2025.
This initiative aims to support international participation and promote the involvement of the next generation of professionals in sturgeon conservation, biology, and aquaculture.
Deadline for Applications: August 20, 2025
Notification of Award: August 30, 2025
Grant Details
Each selected applicant will receive €1000 to help cover travel, accommodation, or registration costs for ISS10 attendance
Grants will be disbursed in cash at the symposium.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
* Be a WSCS member in good standing
* Have an oral or poster presentation accepted for ISS10
* Be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program, or within 3 years post-PhD or who have finished their PhD not earlier than 2022
* Be actively working on sturgeon or paddlefish-related research
Please note:
* Applicants from China are not eligible, as the host country is China

1. Short CV (max 2 pages, including proof of academic/professional status, see above)
2. Motivation letter (max 1 page) stating your reasons for attending ISS10
3. Copy of your submitted abstract for ISS10
4. Letter of recommendation from a supervisor or institutional referee
